Our company began over 50 years ago with the association of three University of Illinois engineering professors: James Clark, Eugene Daily, and Jess Dietz. These professors recognized a need for quality engineering services and formalized their association by incorporating in 1953. They established our original office in Urbana, Illinois and focused primarily on transportation and civil projects, which included bridges on the original Interstate Highway System and water and wastewater treatment plants throughout the Midwest.
By the late 1970's Clark Dietz had become a recognized leader among Midwest-based civil engineering companies. The industry was clearly growing and our clients often expressed the need for expanded services. Clark Dietz responded. We expanded our service offerings to include electrical, mechanical, and structural design. Our physical presence grew beyond central Illinois and we diversified our client base to include municipalities, government agencies, private corporations, health care, education, and industry.
The year 2007 brought additional growth to Clark Dietz. Lang Associates of Wausau and Green Bay, Wisconsin joined Clark Dietz in January bringing significant additional capacity and expertise in the mechanical and electrical engineering areas. Farrar, Garvey and Associates of Indianapolis, Indiana joined Clark Dietz in July bringing added strength in planning, design, and construction management of transportation projects.
Today Clark Dietz consists of approximately 150 professionals operating from offices in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Our core focus is civil, environmental, transportation, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering and we have grown to become industry leaders in the following areas:
