Position Title

Department Manager, Chicago Transportation

Description

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as Department Manager for our Chicago Transportation Department.  Based out of our Chicago, IL office, the position will be responsible for project management, client relationships and staff development. 

Position Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and IL PE are required; M.S.C.E or M.B.A is desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of consulting engineering experience with an emphasis on the planning and design of transportation improvements for state and local agencies.
  • Previous management experience with a demonstrated ability to direct activities, delegate tasks and develop staff.
  • Strong project management skills including; project scoping, negotiations, project analysis, budgeting, invoicing, workload and profit forecasting.
  • Ability to build a collaborative work environment and utilize available resources across multiple offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on-time and within budget and develop and sustain client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to make public presentations, develop proposals and technical reports.
  • Knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, Tollway and AASHTO standards and transportation design and modeling software.
  • Active involvement with professional associations and civic organizations.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
