Position Title

Department Manager, Indiana Transportation

Description

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as Department Manager for our Indiana Transportation Department.  Based out of our Indianapolis, IN office, the position will be responsible for project management, client relationships and staff development. 

Position Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and IN PE are required; M.S.C.E or M.B.A is desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of consulting engineering experience with an emphasis on the planning and design of transportation improvements for state and local agencies.
  • Previous management experience with a demonstrated ability to direct activities, delegate tasks and develop staff.
  • Strong project management skills including; project scoping, negotiations, project analysis, budgeting, invoicing, workload and profit forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and sell work to new and existing clients. 
  • Ability to build a collaborative work environment and utilize available resources across multiple offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on-time and within budget and develop and sustain client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to make public presentations, develop proposals and technical reports.
  • Strong knowledge of INDOT and AASHTO standards as well as transportation design and modeling software is required
  • Active involvement with professional associations and civic organizations.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
